Status: I’m Busy

Posted By Mohammed on November 10, 2009

Hi, Everyone!

It’s been a long time that I have not posted anything here. I’ve been very busy this past few months that made my status always in a BUSY mode. There’s just been a lot of work to be done and a lot of things to finish. It’s been hard since I am working 16 hours a day, 7 days a week. Everyday is a very busy day for me, so I decided to outsource some of the tasks that I have to work on. I’m trying to find an outsourcing team who can work with me full-time and is looking for the right people for the jobs I am offering. Hoping to reach and to work with these people soon. Wish me luck!

How to promote your blog pagerank?

Posted By Mohammed on February 23, 2009

Follow these blog SEO tips and they will help you increase blog pagerank.
1. Establish keywords strategy: use your keywords in your blog domain,  in the title of your posts, in the body of your post and in the anchor text of links.
2. Make sure your blog can be easily found by the search engines
Ensure your navigation bar should be on all pages of your blog. In order to get easily searched, your previous or the popular ones should be linked to all pages.
3. Update your blog frequently
The more frequently you update your blog , the much higher ranking your blog will be.
4. Insist on nearly the same field’s topic of your blog
If you begin to post on your blog, please stick to the same topic. Otherwise you may lose a lot of regular readers and certainly your blog traffic. For example, please don’t switch something about real estate to another topic such as children’s education.

Top SEO Mistakes to Avoid

Posted By Mohammed on February 23, 2009

The First SEO Mistake: Ignoring Basic Search Engine Guidelines
For my part, it is the most probable mistake a SEO beginner could make. SEO is a series of actions meant to increase search engine rankings, so the most important thing is to check the target search engines’ quality and submission guidelines, such as Google and Yahoo.

The Second SEO Mistake: Ignoring the title tags (H1, H2, H3…)
You may notice that a successful blog can include those HTML heading tags, which will be very useful for you to help readers much better follow the post’s structure and meanings, when you have written and published blog posts. Apply appropriate keywords inside these tags, which will be paid attention to by some search engines.

The Third SEO Mistake: No keywords strategy
It is a common mistake that bloggers may make and they may misunderstand the meaning of keywords here. In this case, keywords are not what you consider your blog to be found for, but what it may present in relation to its content. Many websites with the keywords META full of most irrelevant words and phrases could be very common. They ignore the important role of keywords structure, and it is very useful to your blog. You should never think what keywords might be appropriate, but take note to choose keywords that is relevant to your article and topics.

A Guide of SEO for WordPress (Section One)

Posted By Mohammed on February 19, 2009

Recently, I got some good suggestions with a friend who has been running a successful blog for years. Here are his tips to manage a blog as well as making money with it.

Some Facts about the Page Ranking

You know that there are more than 50 million blogs on the Internet and everyday, new blogs come up in numbers. If you don’t stand out you will have no chance. Below are some key points that you need to take care about according to my experience with blog.

The first second of a visitor’s attention is the most crucial.

Your main traffic should come to articles and posts inside your blog, not the home page or other pages.

The quality and quantity of links to your blog will have a strong influence on your blog ranking in Google.

The best way to get links is by natural recommendations from other bloggers or web site owners.

Some Tips to Optimize Your Blog

There are a number of things you really should do to improve your blog even if you have a good template which is well designed and structured already. This will help you to do better in optimization for search engines. Now let’s have a look at how others’ do.

Using the best URLs

To enable the permalinks is easy and you have probably already done that, just go to Options -> Permalinks in the admin panel. But what format is the best to choose? The structure and post name, nothing else. This is best because your URLs to your articles should never change. And if you have it like this it does not matter if you change the category of the article or republish it with a new date, it will always be the same URL.

Title Tags

The title tag is the most important HTML-tag in terms of SEO.

Here are different versions you should use inside the <title></title> located in theme/header.php

Optimum ranking:

<?php if(is_home()) { echo ‘Your blogs name | Few important words’; } else { wp_title(”) ;} ?>

For branding purposes:

<?php if(is_home()) { echo ‘Your blogs name | Few important words’; } else { echo ‘Your blogs name:’; wp_title(”) ;} ?>

The Best Title Tag Solution for Advanced Users

Either install and properly use the SEO Title Tag plugin or do the following:

Download and install this plugin.

Replace <?php get_header(); ?> with the context in header.php on single.php, page.php and category.php.

Work out the best titles for the different versions and use the plugin to create different versions of category.php and single.php with their own versions of title tags. For example if your category with ID 5 is “SEO News” you could have the following title tag in single-cat-5.php:

<title>SEO News: <?php { wp_title(”) ;} ?></title>

In category.php you could have: <title><?php { wp_title(”) ;} ?> | Your Name</title>

Site Map

A Site Map is where your visitors go to navigate and find specific articles and posts on your blog. It is also a place for search engines to find links to all your pages on your blog.

What about a Google Sitemap?

It is not needed. There is no reason for a WordPress blog with a proper navigation structure to submit a Google Sitemap other than for information purposes. A Google Sitemap does not improve your ranking, only crawling, and that is not a problem.

Customize Your Blog

Everyone has different tastes about design but here are points to think about when you design your blog:

  • Keep the design simple, very simple.
  • Have the body text big with big and clear headings.
  • For some reason blogs are not liked in the big social network sites (like digg, reddit etc) so make your theme unique and try to make it look like a site and not a blog.
  • Make sure nothing steals attention from your text.
  • The text width should not be longer than one and a half alphabet, even shorter.
  • When a visitor reaches an article on your blog, the text should be seen instantly. Have the text as far up as possible. A visitor should not have to scroll to reach the content
  • If you are not making decent money with ads I suggest you to erase all ads you have on the blog.

These tips will let us do better for our new blog :)

Posted By Mohammed on February 17, 2009

Hey friends,

I just changed my blog template and will implement some marketing actions for my blog soon. You know, I go and visit other Alex students’ blogs and find that part of them have already done a great job on their blog stuff, say, Dean Holland, Mark Austin, Garry Parkes….a lot, I really appreciate their work and would like to take them as my examples to go on my blogging work. Yesterday, I am lounging on the Internet and found some good tips to market our blogs. I collect them and would like to share with you here. So friends, if your blog is also a new start-up like mine, let’s work together to make it better! :)

Here are the tips I’m going to follow:

1. Try to use a stand alone domain name www.myblog.com and if you have a domain which has enough trafic everyday, it is ok to put your blog under the directory of the domain, say, www.myblog.com/blog

PS: My domain is LearnListBuildingSecrets.com and there is already a webpage there. So I put my blog under the directory of the site www.LearnListBuilding.com/blog. However, my main site do do get enough trafic, so I am considering to put my blog directly under my domain.

2. Customize blog look and template design.

PS: Most of people will choose to use a template to set up their blog. A good template will be choosed and used by numbers of people because they all like beautiful templates :) In order not to make the blog looks like others, we need to customize our blog template. I just canceled my old template and replaced it with the new one. I did these template design on my own and was satisfied with it so far :)

3. Research keywords and develop a glossary - Keyword Discovery, WordTracker, SitePoint, SEOBook Keyword Research.

PS: I will find out my keywords and write some mata tag and description soon :)

4. Optimize the blog:

  • Template optimization - RSS subscription options, social bookmark links, HTML code, Unique title tags, URLs, Sitemap
  • Add helper plugins specific to WordPress or MT
  • Create keyword rich categories (reference your keyword glossary)

5. Enable automatic trackback and ping functionality.

6. Setup a Google account for Sitemap, validate and prep for future submission.

7. When making blog posts always cite the source with a link and don’t be afraid to mention popular bloggers by name. Use keywords in the blog post title, in the body of the post and use anchor text when you link to previous posts you’ve made.

8. Enable statistics for tracking - Google Analytics, ClickTracks.

9. Submit RSS feed and Blog URL to prominent RSS and Blog directories / search engines.

10. Request feedback or reviews of your blog in relevant forums, discussion threads. If you have a resourceful post that will help others, point to it.

11. Post regularly. If it’s a news oriented blog, 3-5 times per day. If it’s an authoritative blog, 3-5 times per week, but each post must be unique and high value.

12. Monitor inbound links, traffic, comments and mentions of your blog - Google Alerts, Technorati, Blogpulse, Yahoo News, Ask Blogs and Feeds.

13. Use social networking services, forums and discussion threads to connect with other bloggers. If they like your friends, they will link to you.

14. Always respond to comments on your blog and when you detect a mention of your blog on another blog, thank that blogger in the comments of the post.

15. Research and comment on relevant industry related blogs and blogs with significant centers of influence.
